Marchesa: The Muse of Bridal Gowns(part1/2)

With nineteenth-century eccentric aristocrat Marchesa Casiti as their muse, two young gals designer brought to life the icon’s grandiose vision of being a living work of art. A great partnership was born when Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig met at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Georgina, a 2001 graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art, began her career as a costume designer. Keren graduated from Brighton Art College in 2000 and subsequently focused on print and embroidery design. Georgina’s draping and design paired with Keren’s textile creations resulted in the establishment of Marchesa in 2004.

The brand Marchesa is specializing in high end womanswear and quickly exploded as a favorite among celebrities and critics alike. In 2006, with intricate craftsmanship and whimsical flourishes Marchesa was honored by the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, which promotes and supports young talent.
